Ameraucana Crosses--Easter Egg chickens!
Flock Management Policy
Due to the large number of predators in the area, the flock is kept in a large coop with a large run, unless enjoying supervised foraging. As their mainstay, they are fed organic layer feed for best production, with water at all times, and a calcium supplement in the form of oyster shell. Leafy treats are brought in season, and scratch is offered in frigid weather. For a strong start, chicks are given vitamins in their water, and a coccidiostat with their feed. I do not vaccinate for Marek's. I have yet to have an Ameraucana cross fall ill with anything, but like all chickens, they are subject to external parasites, and are treated as necessary.
